Sandbag Collection Update

Following my notice of 5 July, the latest forecast for collection of sandbags is sometime next week (23 to 27 July), assuming the weather does not suddenly get much worse.  A precise date for the commencement of collection is expected to be announced in a few days time.

Residents are reminded that:

1    Households are free to keep any sandbags they have acquired over the last 2 or 3 weeks.  However, the plastic 'sacking' used, whether white or green, will deteriorate relatively quickly when exposed to light.  Therefore unless you have a dry, dark storage facility, it isn't wise to try to store them for a long period.

2    The collection will be undertaken by Verdant (the company that delivered the bags to the Parish) on a street-by-street basis,    in a manner similar to the refuse and recycling collections.  Residents will need to move the bags to the roadside edge of their property, but
anyone who requires physical help to move them should contact the Parish Clerk (Mrs B Taylor) on 01949 843611 well in advance of the collection date.

3    If you have any doubt about your bags being seen, eg if you have the only sandbags in your street, you are advised to call me with your details as soon as possible, so I can ensure Verdant are aware of your address.
