Break-in

Yesterday evening, Wednesday 12 December, between 18.40 and 22.00 hours, a house in Post Office Lane, Redmile, was forcibly entered (windows smashed and forced open) while the occupants were out. Though drawers and cupboards had been searched, nothing was taken; maybe they were disturbed.

This break-in was very similar in MO to another in Redmile about two weeks ago.

Residents are, as usual, urged to be constantly vigilant for any suspicious behaviour (people or vehicles) and to report such incidents to the police on 0116 222 2222.

Car Theft

Since 7am this morning there have been 2 cars stolen in Leicestershire, and one in Denton. All were left outside the owner's house, defrosting with the engine running.

Apart from the inconvenience of having to catch the bus to work, the insurance company will not pay out, so you are advised to keep a VERY close watch on your car if you need to defrost.

Burglaries

Within the last few days there have been a small number of thefts of metal objects, including wire and batteries, from farms & similar rural businesses in the Bottesford Parish area - amounting to a considerable monetary loss to the owners.

In one case, two males with a P reg dark blue Ford Mondeo were reported at the scene.

Everyone is URGED to be particularly vigilant and to obtain the best possible description, including registration number, of any vehicles and/or people wandering around or paying unexpected visits to any property. The people may seem very plausible but may still be intent on crime.

PLEASE be a good parishioner and, without hesitation, report ANY such situation or suspicious occurrence to the police on 0116 222 2222.
