Attempted Break-in

This
morning, two young males of a swarthy,
Mediterranean, appearance broke into a house on
Station Road, Bottesford. Fortunately they were
disturbed by the occupier, and ran off. Please keep
an eye open for any similar suspicious characters,
and call the police (999 or 0116 222 2222 accoding
to the emergency) immediately.

Leicestershire Police have just reported a
distraction break at in Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir
today, where 3 Irish-sounding males said they were
from the Water Board. Two vehicles were reported: a
silver AUDI, reg similar to **70 VNP, and a grey
Mini reg similar to FG56FXU. Please always check ID
documents/cards THOROUGHLY before allowing any
stranger into your property, and ensure your door
is locked behind him/her, even when they are. If
you are in any way suspicious of callers, don't
allow them in and report the incident to the
police, and to your local NHW.
2 Waltham-on-the-Wolds NHW reports that scrap metal collectors, said to be from Newark-on-Trent area, have been operating in that area, using a white Ford Transit, reg. similar to T549JDX. In the present climate of widespread, and audacious, metal thefts throughout the country, please safeguard your property and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately, on 0116 222 2222.
