Car thefts

Leicestershire Constabulary have today informed me of a number of incidents of car related crime affecting the Belvoir Neighbourhood.

1 4 cars parked on Church Lane, Long Clawson, were scratched two days ago, during the evening of 26 November, most probably between the hours of 7 and 8 pm. It goes without saying that if anyone has any information which may be relevant, please inform the police on 0116 222 2222, and leave a message for any of Sgt (1526) Johnny Monks, PC (246 Darryl Cunnington, or PC (210) Mark Longden, The police are most anxious to catch the vandals who have caused such distress to villagers.

2 A number of people have had valuables stolen from cars parked in rural locations while they are out walking. PLEASE do not leave any objects on view in the car when you leave it, and don't put your handbag, etc, into the boot just before leaving the vehicle. You may not think there is anyone else around at that time, but you may well be being watched.
