"Dear Neighbourhood and Countryside Watch member
Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to all those persons that
have called the Leicestershire Constabulary to report sightings of
suspicious activities and vehicles. Some of this information received
has allowed us to target some prolific travelling criminals that have been
committing crime in rural areas. I am glad to report that a number of
persons are now in custody, who have committed a number of offences within
Leicestershire and neighbouring counties.

Crimes to report.
In the Waltham on the Wolds area on the 23rd Feb - access to rural
property was gained via cutting a pair of gates, but nothing was removed
from the yard.

"ONE TO WATCH FOR:
Open backed pickup truck with Orange cab. Registration L447 LEW has been
seen close to theft of scrap metal in the Melton Mowbray area earlier
yesterday. If you see it please call the Leicestershire Constabulary.

ON THE CRIME FRONT:
There were a number of incidents linked to the theft of scrap in Asfordby
and Long Clawson yesterday, so if you see a vehicle carrying scrap or
acting in a suspicious manner please let Leicestershire Constabulary have
the details.

There have also been a number of other incidents in the Grimston area, a
Ride on Mower has been taken from secure out building and at another
location a farm house was entered and a number of jewellery items have
been removed.

The night before last, a green Cement Mixer was taken from a building site
on the Leicester Road area of Melton Mowbray. The thieves broke into a
secure storage area to remove it.
