Items stolen have included good quality garden furniture, planters and even plants, in addition to breaks into cars for whatever may be hidden inside. Please take all reasonable care of your property. As most of these crimes are thought to be opportunist, why not consider fastening garden furniture to the ground? Be vigilant at all times, and PLEASE report all suspicious activity and vehicles IMMEDIATELY to the Police on 0116 222 2222.

Gareth Andrew Donajgrodzki is missing from his home at Woodhouse Eaves and
is believed to be in the Leicestershire area. He is believed to be in
possession of a black Fiat 500 Sport, registration BF08EXK.
He is a white male, 62 years of age, 5'8" tall and speaks with a well spoken
deep English accent. He has short grey hair, moustache and beard. He was
last seen wearing a khaki jacket, black jeans and Berghaus walking boots.

Property was stolen after thieves entered the house without forcing an entry. Some property was recovered shortly afterwards from the footpath linking Church View and Pinfold Lane.

Police are asking anyone with knowledge of any person or groups of persons passing through that area in that time window, or with any other relevant information, to contact them (attention DS 1570 Hutchings) on 0116 222 2222, referring to Crime NM 00677/10-7.

The Police also emphasise the need for residents to exercise all reasonable care in the security of their homes, particularly to ensure that doors and windows are locked not only when leaving their homes, but also when watching television etc at a distance from the doors.

On 3 March two white males visited an elderly female resident at her home in Orston stating words to the effect, "You need to get out of the house, there's going to be an explosion." They then entered the premises turned on all the downstairs taps, searched cupboards and took a metal box that contained money. They then left.

The victim who is 90 years of age and deaf was very upset by their actions and unfortunately unable to give any description of the offenders. A neighbour realised something was amiss reported the matter to the police.

The metal box has since been recovered minus the money.

A similar offence occurred that day in Lincolnshire, mention being made of an explosion to an elderly couple.

POLICE ADVICE;
1 Don't let anyone inot your home without checking their identity first.

2 Put the chain on before opening the door.

3 Don't accept a story at face value. Alway check, should they say they are from the Water Board, Gas or Electric ring the company to check. Ring the number in the phone book not the one they give you. If they are genuine they will not mind waiting whilst you do this.

4 Do not hesitate to report suspicious behavious to the police, dial 999 to do this.

5 Try to get a description of the offenders and any vehicle they may be using.

6 You can arrange a secret password with most of the Public Utility Companies. Should their representative be unable to tell you what this is do not let them into your home

1 - Two males in fire brigade uniform, and using a fire brigade van which was stolen from Notts yesterday, have been knocking door to door asking residents what valuables they would like rescuing in the event of a fire.

This is not a legitimate call and needs to be reported to the police immediately on 0116 222 2222.

2 - Two males have been knocking at doors in Scalford but run away when the householder answers

3 - Suspicious damage to a door has been reported from a property in Belvoir.

NEW WAY TO DO CAR-JACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)'

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating.. You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine put it into Reverse.

When you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you stop and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically run you over as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.
So now the car-jacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, lock your doors and just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Somebody person(s) broke into the shed at Bottesford Pre-School last week and threw 2 litres of household paint all over the contents of the shed. This has ruined about £300 worth of sports equipment, outdoor umbrellas and gardening supplies. Not to mention the time we now have to spend cleaning up the mess. Pre-school is a charity and we cannot bear the costs of these sorts of losses.
It has been reported to the Police but whoever did it must have had paint all over their hands at the very least. Would you be able to send a message round on the neighbourhood watch email asking if anybody has had their child come home with paint on them or if anybody knows anything about it. The paint was cream and the incident happened sometime last week (we think Wednesday or Thursday night, but it was definitely between Monday and Thursday night).

If anyone knows anything about this serious, mindless, vandalism or suspects a person or persons may have been involved, would they please contact Leicestershire Police on 0116 222 2222.
