Bottesford

Halloween

There have already been reports of youths gathering with eggs and bags of flour. If any resident is troubled by youths this evening, they should phone the police on 0116 222 2222 immediately. There are officers on duty this evening, but they are unlikely to be in the Police Station in Queen St, so the call centre is the best way of contacting them.

Speeding Traffic

Residents may have noticed that some neighbouring villages - Stathern and Allington, in particular - have established a Community Speed Watch in an attempt to counter excessive speeds of traffic in their villages. A Bottesford resident, Colin Love of Belvoir Road, has volunteered to act as a focus for similarly concerned residents of Bottesford Parish, and is prepared to take the lead in exploring the possibility of establishing Community Speed Watch here.

Any Bottesford parishioner who is similarly concerned and would be prepared to work with Mr Love, including joining roadside speed monitoring groups, is asked to contact him on 01949 842671, or by e-mail at colindlove@hotmail.com . It is emphasised that only those residents who are prepared to commit time to being trained and to active roadside speed monitoring should contact him.
